This painting depicts a bright and enormous sun, a shimmering blue-green earth and a glowing yellowish moon against an inky black sky filled with stars. This particular painting, unusually, features no relief paint. As it says in Genesis 1:17 ‘God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth’.
